Croydon praised in service users’ poll

A user satisfaction survey by Croydon Council of its services
for older people and younger adults in care found that about 80 per
cent of users rated the service as “good” or “very good”.

A thousand service users took part in the survey, which was
published last week.

A follow-up survey will be carried out in 12 to 18 months’ time
to measure the impact of improvement plans being introduced in the
light of the findings.

n Community Care reported earlier this month that a resident of
the privately-run Anchorage home in Croydon had died from
malnutrition (News, page 6, 26 July). However, it was not within
the remit of the inquiry on which that report was based to
determine the cause of death.

A coroner’s inquest into the resident’s death returned a verdict
of “natural causes following a stroke”.
