Poor co-ordination in Scots` services

Vulnerable children in Scotland are being failed, says a study
by an action team from the local government, health and voluntary
sectors.

The team found that services and assessment of need were poorly
co-ordinated, often excluding vulnerable children, and that some
children were “invisible” to services.

Education minister Jack McConnell announced several immediate
steps to improve service delivery of services including the
establishment of a ministerial task force to integrate children’s
services.
