Framework will go beyond social care

The forthcoming National Framework for
Children’s Services will go far beyond social care, Janice Shersby,
manager of the government’s children’s task force told the
conference. It will cover matters as diverse as maternity services,
health and social care.

“We are determined not to take a narrow view,”
she said, “but to have a broad focus for all children, as well as
children with particular needs.” The first module of the framework
would appear next year and would be concerned with children in
hospital.
