Workers asked to consult on codes

Social care workers, employers, service users,
and carers are being urged to respond to the General Social Care
Council’s consultation on codes of conduct and practice.

The codes will set out the principles and
expectations of the social care workforce and its employers and
will set the benchmark for hearings into allegations of
misconduct.

The GSCC has received around 280 written
responses as well as verbal feedback from more than 1,300 people
who attended consultation events at six venues across the
country.

Chief executive Lynne Berry said: “There’s
still time before 29 March to get your responses in, so if your
organisation is still considering responses, I urge you to send
them to us as soon as possible,” she said.

– People can respond to the consultation by
visiting www.gscc-consult.co.uk or
phoning 020 7397 5800.
