Stereotypical and sometimes racist judgements can be made by
professionals about domestic violence, a report has claimed.
Domestic Violence and Minoritisation, launched this
week, says that explaining domestic violence in terms of culture
can lead to assumptions being made about women’s roles and may
ignore sexist and racist bariers that prevent access to
services.
