Money to avoid fines ‘not enough’

Only one in seven visitors to Community Care‘s website
believe that £100m per year from the government is enough to
ensure local authorities avoid fines for delayed discharges of
older people from hospital.

GPs have claimed they are being forced to refer vulnerable older
people to hospital inappropriately due to difficulties accessing
community-based services from social services departments.
