Opinions divided on impact of Valuing People

Visitors to Community Care’s website are divided in
their assessment of the Valuing People white paper on learning
difficulties services.

Forty five per cent said the initiative had not had an impact in
their area since it was launched in March 2001, with 55 per cent
saying it had.

This week’s question asks: Should unqualified people
from communities be recruited to work with child protection
professionals?

The idea has been put forward by charity NCH as a way to ease
the workload and help the community become more involved in the
protection of children.
