‘Throw a party to build relationships’

The way to improve relations between health and social care locally
is to have more parties, directors were told.

“We don’t have enough parties and we don’t stand up to talk about
things we do we are proud of,” said Gillian Morgan, chief executive
of the NHS Confederation.

She added that a breakdown in relationships was the main reason why
local partnerships failed.

“Partnership working is very tough. Take the time to nurture
partnerships – they need looking after and loving,” she said.
