Children’s law guides to advise members

Unison plans to publish guidance on the raft of legislative
measures designed to protect children.

The guidance will advise members on the new laws included in the
Care Standards Act 2000 and the Protection of Children Act 1999.

John Stephenson, from Edinburgh, who supported the motion to
introduce the guidance, said the advice was important because there
was a danger of employers being overly cautious about the new
legislation.
