Users deterred by piles of paper

Service users are being put off becoming active in national bodies
because of the volume of paperwork, according to a forthcoming
report from the Social Care Institute of Excellence (Scie).

Scie policy adviser Don Brand said organisations needed to adapt
the way they worked to engage users.

“The other issue is that there is a lot of participation going on
but nobody knows whether it’s having an effect,” he told a fringe
session on people power.
