Teenager on conduct order found dead

An 18 year old who was given an indefinite antisocial behaviour
order last December was found dead at his mother’s home last
week.

Damien Brown, who along with brothers Daniel and Darren became the
first people to be handed lifetime Asbos, is believed to have drunk
large quantities of vodka and taken medication drugs.

Police have ruled out any suspicious circumstances and the case has
been referred to the coroner’s office.

Brown and his brothers were given Asbos by Dartford (Kent)
magistrates after being arrested more than 40 times (news, page 9,
5 December 2002).

In June he was found guilty of breaching the Asbo.

Last month, the three brothers’ appeal at Maidstone Crown Court
against their Asbos failed, but the orders were reduced to four
years.
