Scottish Supporting People Fund frozen

The Supporting People Fund in Scotland, this year set at
£408m, has been frozen for 26 of the 32 Scottish local
authorities, according to the Scottish executive.

A spokesperson from the Scottish Council for Single Homeless said:
“The implementation of the Homelessness etc (Scotland) Act 2003 may
bring new and different demands on the Supporting People programme.
It is important the Scottish executive responds to any developing
pressure points.”

The Supporting People programme is intended to help local
authorities provide housing support and services to vulnerable
people.
