Lollipops are to be distributed to people leaving nightclubs in
Basingstoke to try to deter them from antisocial behaviour.
Basingstoke police are sponsoring the lollipop scheme in the town
centre as part of the Safer Streets campaign.
Clubs and pubs which stay open later than 11.30pm will be provided
with lollipops and urged to hand them out to customers leaving the
premises.
Violent crime has been reduced in the other parts of England that
have adopted the scheme.
