Held appointed to care council post

Former Camden social services director Jane Held has become interim
director of regulation at the General Social Care Council.

Held, who suddenly quit her job at Camden in December, joins this
week until a person is appointed permanently. She will help to
oversee the registration of all social workers by April 2005.

Since leaving Camden, Held has been working at the Commission for
Social Care Inspection, and was formerly director at
Southend.

The GSCC’s new post of deputy chief executive and director of
strategy will be filled by Mike Wardle, the council’s former
director of standards and regulation.
