What Is A Disability? discusses what it means to have a disability
and help children to understand it. It explains how people in
wheelchairs don’t move the way we do, they just move differently,
but they are still normal human beings who want to live their life.
They just can’t walk, that’s all, writes Conor Lynam.

When people have difficulty reading, or writing, they may have a
disability. It doesn’t mean they are stupid, it just means they
need a little more time to learn, that’s all. I think that this
booklet is a good way to tell children about disability, with just
the right amount of illustrations and text.

What Is Contact? discusses children who no longer live with their
birth parents. The guide explains how children feel about their
foster families and ways to keep in touch with their birth
families.

This booklet could use a little more from the people whom it talks
about and their points of view.

Conor Lynam is aged 13
