The Adopter’s Handbook (Revised Edition)

Amy Neil Salter, revised by Jenifer Lord, BAAF

ISBN 1903699622, £13.95

STAR RATING 4/5

“The most useful book on adoption I have read so far” commented an
adopter about the previous edition. This update loses nothing while
adding new information on policy and legislation, writes Barbara
Davis.

The revised information includes changes in registration of
adoption agencies, adoption support plans, the independent review
mechanism in England, and the “preparing to adopt” course. Although
there is little reference to legislation outside of England and
Wales, there is still plenty of relevant information for adopters
in Scotland or Northern Ireland. The book is easy to follow, well
laid-out and answers the many questions that adopters ask.
