Alice Bradley, BILD
ISBN 1 904082 86 6, £12
STAR RATING 4/5
Alice Bradley’s jargon-free workbook provides a grounding on the
disability movement of the past 20 years and the drivers of change,
writes Diane Buddery.
The readable style uses “key points” to summarise learning and
there are references for further reading. Bradley also bravely
tries to engage the reader to attempt their own person-centred
plan, which is admirable if difficult in this format. I would have
welcomed more emphasis on the role of visual communication and more
discussion on circles of support, which could have done with its
own section.
Diane Buddery is a senior training manager for
Cambridgeshire learning disability partnership
