Probe into racism at Oakington centre

An independent investigation into Oakington immigration reception
centre and its removal practices is to be carried out by the
prisons and probation ombudsman Stephen Shaw. It follows a BBC
documentary this month alleging racism and mistreatment of
detainees.

GSL, which manages and operates the centre, has also started an
internal investigation. Fifteen employees have been suspended
pending the outcome of the investigations.
