AGGRESSION AT WORK – AND HOW TO HANDLE IT
Ray Braithwaite, Utility Films
£25
Star Rating: 3/5
This CD-Rom offers guidance on how to deal with aggression in the
workplace. It has scenarios about the challenges faced by a
caseworker and his colleagues on one day.
These are accompanied by explanations of how to handle the
situation by Ray Braithwaite, writes Ian Wheeler.
Unfortunately, the quality of the CD is variable in both the
acting and its technical quality. But Braithwaite is an experienced
trainer in this area, and his techniques for dealing with
aggression are useful and practical, as are some of his
comments.
The main weakness with this CD is that it tries to deal with too
many different situations, and therefore lacks focus. It may have
benefited from concentrating on a single area and addressing this
in more depth.
Ian Wheeler is training manager for education and children’s
services in Blackpool.
