Protocol brings closer relationship

The Association of Directors of Social Services and the Children
and Family Court Advisory and Support Service are set to enjoy a
closer working relationship.

Last week a protocol between the bodies was agreed aiming to
safeguard the well-being of children and set up common principles
for joint working. The two bodies will share information, and
Cafcass officials will attend ADSS meetings. Also, each Cafcass
manager will meet their local social services assistant director at
least three times a year.

The agreement is the first step towards guidelines on the roles of
social workers and Cafcass practitioners working on public law
cases.
