** Import Warning ** family court Union wants action on large workloads

Probation union Napo may go into dispute with the Children and
Family Court Advisory and Support Service over workloads.

Napo wants to see more managers appointed to ease workloads, and
has included this aim in its recent annual pay claim.

In its newsletter, it said: “Cafcass has acknowledged that the
problem is real, but at this stage seems unable or unwilling to
take decisive action to remedy the situation.”

Napo is also considering industrial action over wages, should
Cafcass reject its claim for pay parity between staff in England
and Wales.

Following its transfer to the Welsh assembly last month, Cafcass
Cymru staff are on better salaries than their English
counterparts.
The pay claim also includes an increase in London weighting.
