The future of seven Department of Health schemes, which triggered a
row between the DoH and the Social Care Institute for Excellence,
has been settled by keeping the schemes within the department.
Plans to integrate the programmes within Scie collapsed in
February, but last month they were brought together as the Care
Services Improvement Partnership, alongside the £20m health in
criminal justice programme.
CSIP, which includes the National Institute for Mental Health in
England and the Valuing People Support Team, will also handle the
consultation on the adult green paper. Richard Humphreys has been
appointed to head CSIP by a panel including representatives from
the Association of Directors of Social Services and Scie.
