Commission flags equality agenda

The Disability Rights Commission has launched a debate on the
future of equality for disabled people in Britain.

Chairman Bert Massie urged a new agenda to ensure disabled people
became equal citizens before the commission is absorbed into the
Commission for Equality and Human Rights in two years.

“We need to feel confident that the government has a clear sense of
what still needs to be done,” he said.

The commission has called for a response to its discussion paper,
Shaping the Future of Equality.
