A group of MPs and the Refugee Council have called for failed Zimbabwean asylum seekers to be allowed to work to avoid destitution.

Kate Hoey, chair of the group, said: “There are Zimbabweans I know who have been reduced to destitution within the past few weeks even though they have the skills we really need in this country, such as teaching and nursing.”
