Creative,  driven and compassionate

Imagine you were stuck on a desert island, and could take one person and one object, who and what would they be?
Pete, my husband – he is calm, fun to be with, loves sailing (and me!) and never gives up  – very useful when trying to escape ! 

The Object would have to be my  Blackberry – it would provide psychological comfort – I could keep a diary, write to all my friends and constantly check for messages – even if no reception!

Who inspires you and why? 
Bob Holman, because he ‘walks the talk’-and lives out his convictions – he is a good friend but makes me feel very humble

What is your favourite place in the world?
A simple little hotel in the hills above Alte in the Algarve , Portugal. Sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine as the sun sets looking across the mountains – incredibly beatiful, peaceful and warm……(Just got back actually!)

If you were on death row what would your last meal be?
Pan fried scallops
Roast lamb
Tarte tatin
Champagne (a whole boittle!)

Which celebrity would you want to play the role of you in a film about your life?
Meryl Streep – she is known for being a perfectionist when preparing for roles – one of the most brilliant actresses of my generation!

What was the last CD you bought? 
Learn Spanish – so I can talk to my son in law !

What is your favourite film of all time?
“Cathy come home ” made for TV in 1966 as a drama documentary – its portrayal of poverty, homelessness and social workers had an enormous impact on me, then a teenage mother myself

What is the best present you have ever been given?
A  poem about our family by my small granddaughter (aged 8) – after a magic family wedding in Barcelona

If you could do any job in the world, what would it be?
Secretary general of the UN. – or maybe just Prime Minister! I think I could make a difference
