Assistant to Kathryn Hudson appointed

Former British Association of Social Workers general secretary David Jones has been appointed as an assistant to national director for social care Kathryn Hudson.

Jones, who was also director of operations at former training body the Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work, will work part-time at the Department of Health on adult social care policy and its implementation.

He has moved from the Department for Education and Skills where he held an advisory role on the implementation of Every Child Matters, but is officially employed by the Commission for Social Care Inspection and on secondment.

Jones is also European president of the International Federation of Social Workers.
