School admissions policy must prioritise looked-after children

A school in Altringham, Greater Manchester, was told yesterday to change its admissions arrangements to prioritise children in care by the Office of the Schools Adjudicator.

It upheld an objection by Trafford Council that the oversubscription criteria at Loreto Grammar School did not meet regulations to give top priority to looked-after children.
