‘No radical moves in government report’

A government review of the social care workforce is unlikely to propose radical change when it reports next month, a Local Government Association report says.

In a report for this week’s meeting of the LGA’s community wellbeing board, workforce consultant Vic Citarella said the Options for
Excellence report would give suggestions rather than recommendations.

He said pay would be mentioned but the government needed to be convinced of a link between improved outcomes and better salaries.
