Gillian Tee, former head of children and young people at Oxfordshire Council, has been appointed director of children and families at Edinburgh Council. Tee held her post in Oxfordshire for four years, during which time she was responsible for service planning, delivery and performance in relation to services for children and young people. Tee replaces Roy Jobson, who retired last month.
Margaret Doran as been appointed as the new executive director for education and social work services at Glasgow Council, where she is currently service director for education services. Doran came to Glasgow from Southend Council in June last year. Her role as executive director will be to ensure that social work and education work together to guarantee the best possible outcome for children and families.
Oxford Council has appointed Peter Sloman as its new chief executive. Sloman comes from High Peak Borough Council in Derbyshire, where he has been chief executive for seven years. He will join Oxford Council at the end of August.
Dawn Warwick currently deputy chief executive at Slough Council, will become the first director of Wandsworth’s newly-formed adult social services department. Warwick has 13 years’ experience at director or assistant director level, and became director of social services at Slough in 2001. Three years later, she took the broader role of strategic director of community and cultural services. Warwick will join Wandsworth in September.
