The Department of Health wish to commission the development of tools to support the Fair Access to Care Services (FACS) guidance, which is in the process of being updated. Draft revised guidance is currently out for consultation, and the final guidance is due to be published later in the year to take effect in April 2010.
The project will involve the development of practice guide(s) and training materials for:
The tools must set FACS in the context of other personalisation policies, Putting People First and other relevant strategies. The tools should be in an accessible format and tailored to suit the needs of the target groups. Consultation with stakeholders/representatives of the target groups will be necessary throughout this project to ensure the materials are fit for purpose.
The planned start date is late November and the contract will run to February/March. We are seeking expressions of interest from organisations with a track record in developing products of this type and with knowledge and experience of the social care system.
