Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.

About the role

This role will lead our National Knowledge and Information Services team to ensure that the Society’s online, publications and face to face information is fully accessible to people affected by dementia, effective for employees and volunteers and based on the latest regulatory, national and local standards. This director will plan and implement our national service; the first point of contact for anyone diagnosed with dementia, as well as their family and carers, across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. They, and their team, will help steer people through the maze of health and social care. 

Part of the Operations Leadership Team, this role will work closely with the Director of Operations and senior management colleagues in other directorates to deliver tangible results. This will involve establishing and managing a high calibre team and building strong connections with internal and external partners. 

About you
This influential and strategic role calls for significant experience of leading and managing large teams, strong financial and project management skills, and a demonstrated ability to work on your own initiative and manage a significant and varied workload with competing demands. You will need to combine strategic thinking, strong leadership and organisational skills. You will also need to drive through and embed new ways of working, new behaviours and new thinking, inspiring and energising your teams through times of change. 

Along with degree-level education you will have substantial senior-level experience of managing within a large, geographically dispersed operating environment. Your proven ability to turn commitments into clear actions must be supported by excellent people management skills. Add to that strong communication and interpersonal skills and you will quickly establish yourself as an indispensable member of our team.
