Service Manager - Multi-Agency Partnership Service

About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen as a Service Manager in the Multi-Agency Children's Services (MAP) Team to join us in a leadership capacity to direct, monitor and coordinate the MAP Services. Team based within our Children's Single Point of Access (C-SPA).

The Children's Single Point of Access (C-SPA) is the umbrella term for the front door to provide support, information and advice for residents, families and those who work with Surrey children. All requests for support from C-SPA are made in line with our "Effective Family Resilience" document which outlines the criteria for the different levels of need.

Alongside the Multi Agency Partnership Team, C-SPA is home to the Early Help Hub and the Schools & Settings consultation line where advice can be accessed from a qualified social worker.

C-SPA Teams work in partnership with Surrey Police and Health colleagues to ensure that any request for support from our Children's service is thoroughly assessed so that the correct level of response is provided.

The MAP Team is staffed by qualified social workers, education advisors, police and 0-19 public health nurses and supported by MAP officers and administrators. They receive requests for support when it is unclear what level of need is required.

As the MAP Service Manager you will ensure all new high priority requests for statutory social work services are directed to the most appropriate team to undertake an assessment within 24 hours. Or where multi-agency information sharing suggests early help/targeted services are more appropriate, within 48 hours.

A pivotal element of this role is to be able to foster high level cooperation between the Early Help Family hub and the MAP team. This ensures that children get the right help from the right service at the right time and that any disputes are resolved quickly in the best interests of the child.

As the MAP Service Manager you will also be responsible for conducting multi-agency training sessions for partner agencies, putting in place suitable information sharing arrangements with co-located partners from police and health to aid multi-agency decision making, as well as coordinate the work of the consultation line, assessment teams and early help for professionals too.

You will have line management responsibility not only for the MAP Team but also the Emergency Duty Team (out of hours service) and have management oversight for the Request for Support Team as well.

Who are we looking for?

As a Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England (or equivalent) you will bring substantial experience in assessing the needs of, and undertaking direct work with, children and young people, together with a track record at Team Manager level of improving children and young people's lives in UK statutory services. You will also bring experience and specialist knowledge of Multi Agency Partnership.

You will also be willing and able to travel around the county to meet the demands of the role, to work from different sites and work evenings and weekends if required in line with service needs.
