Advanced Practitioner Social Worker (PERI Team)

Lincolnshire | Countywide

1 x position in the North, 1 x position in the South

This is what progress looks like

Families change. We change with them. That’s why to us, social work is always work in progress. There has never been a more exciting time to join our team: as well as making a difference to the lives of families in Lincolnshire, we’re sharing best practice and driving innovation as an improvement partner to other authorities.

As an Advanced Practitioner you will be at the forefront of that process, identifying, assessing, planning, implementing and reviewing the care needs of our most complex children and families.

This is what innovation looks like

Here at Lincolnshire County Council, we believe that children, young people and families deserve outstanding social care. That’s why we’ve taken a pioneering approach, leading exciting new government programmes like Partners in Practice and implementing Signs of Safety across all service areas. Now, we’re continuing that process with our PERI Team. Made up of two Advanced Practitioners and four Level 2 Social Workers, this unit helps our other social workers tackle spikes in cases or resourcing challenges. At the frontline of our service, these are the experts we rely on when help is needed the most.

What you’ll be doing

As an Advanced Practitioner with our PERI Team, you will collaborate with social workers from across our council, helping make workloads more manageable during challenging times, creating consistency and stability, and having a positive effect on the way we all work. You’ll provide a safe, child-focused service using the Signs of Safety framework and make sure we achieve an outstanding standard of health and personal development for each and every child in your care. We’d also like you to develop the leaders of the future by managing, mentoring and developing the social workers in your team, helping them to improve their practice and giving them increasing responsibility for their own caseloads.

What we’re looking for

  • Significant social work exPERIence and an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • A firm belief in the importance of social work values and practice.
  • An innovative and inspirational leader who provides a high level of support at all times.
  • An excellent communicator who builds strong working relationships with colleagues, families and external agencies.
  • First-class time management and organisational skills.
  • Above all, someone who wants to achieve the best possible result for each and every child.

In return, we’re committed to supporting your continuous professional development and career progression. We offer a 7% annual retention bonus to our Advanced Practitioners working within our FAST Teams.

If you will require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK, please contact us to discuss this before submitting your application.

All shortlisted candidates will need to verify their eligibility to work in the UK at interview.

We reserve the right to close an advert early.
