Social worker – Support and Safeguarding Team

Children, young people and families are at the heart of everything we do at Northamptonshire Children’s Trust.

We are a newly established Children’s Trust that delivers children’s social care and targeted early help services across Northamptonshire. Moving to a Trust means that the organisation can focus solely on children, young people and families and gives us the opportunity to develop our strengths based practice.

Experience and skills

Key skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to make soundmethodical and pragmatic decisions
  • The ability to provide comprehensive professional advice and support within the service specialism
  • Able to self-manage, whilst being aware of the impact of work on self and others
  • Able to reflect on practice and learn from experience and feedback
  • Able and confident to share good practice and learning with colleagues across the organisation

Qualifications and experience

  • A CQSW/CSS DipSW/Degree in Social Work or Home Office letter of Recognition, or equivalent
  • Disclosure and barring service clearance
  • Social Work England registration

This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for the role.

Enhanced DBS clearance and SW England required. Some posts in MASH and Duty and Assessment (s47) teams are based in the Criminal Justice Centre (CJC) and are therefore subject to annual vetting by Northamptonshire Police. This clearance is required to undertake the role.
