There’s still time to take part in Community Care’s annual jobseekers’ survey and share what you look for in a job, as a social worker or social care practitioner.
The research will explore what might tempt you to move roles, including the most important benefits an employer can offer, as well as your preferences for agency or permanent roles.
Community Care has been carrying out the jobseekers’ research since 2014, and we share the results with employers to help influence what they offer.
Everyone who completes the short survey has the chance to win one of two £50 One4All vouchers.
Respect and support for the 37 hour working week. Value the importance of life outside of Social Work. No pressure to work additional hours without additional pay nor time off in lieu. Acceptance that Social Workers cannot possibly do everything and decisions have to be made regarding priorities.
A manager I actually recognise.
And more importantly, a manager I actually respect.
Too many have been able to move into managerial positions by talking the talk, but unable to walk the walk.
The development of team culture comes from the top. A big red flag that identifies an incompetent manager is high staff turnover or the most experienced practitioners avoiding stepping up into senior roles.
Keir Starmer is reported as about to say “…Things are going to get worse before to get better…” I recall the Tories saying exactly the same in 2010. What is Labour offering beyond more austerity? The Labour Chancellor has been very quick to cut financial support to pensioners regarding winter fuel payments and with the support of Keir Starmer. Where is their socialism?
Sir Keir looks and acts more typical Tory than Labour. Let’s see if he is another Tory Trojan horse like Blair.
Well his ‘Socialism’ is for the working class and does not apply to him being on a Politicians salary and living in wealthy Camden, but of course wants the working class and poor to be hit with every tax and charge for the ‘greater good’ while allowing corporations like Amazon and Starbucks to pay zero tax in the UK, and funding wars abroad too
Am convinced you’re right. Quite happy to quickly cut financial support to poorer pensioners
