Campaigners for visually impaired people will march on Parliament today calling for them to receive higher levels of disability living allowance.
The lobby, led by the Royal National Institute for the Blind, is against arrangements preventing people with sight loss from claiming the £43.45 higher mobility rate for DLA.
Currently they can only claim the lower rate of £16.50.
RNIB head of campaigns Steve Winyard said: "It’s not surprising that blind people, who can’t drive and often find public transport impossible, feel cheated by not being allowed to claim the same level of benefit as other disabled people."
The charity estimates the change would cost £61m a year.
