Hereford & Worcester is refusing to use £700,000 which
Unison says are uncommitted funds to settle a dispute over overtime
and weekend pay.
But a council spokesperson denied that the money – which
resulted from a surplus in the last financial year – was
uncommitted.
Union members were preparing to take part in a third one-day
stoppage as Community Care went to press.
In Liverpool, where residential council staff remain on strike,
an arbitration meeting was due to be held this week with
non-striking members of white-collar union Apex.
Liverpoool Unison was undecided on whether it would attend a
meeting as Community Care went to press.
