Accident by design
Have you bought the National Institute for Social Work’s Making
Positive Career Choices about career development for women in
social work? Did it puzzle you that the complementary sections for
organisations were printed upside down?
Fear not. For once printers cannot be blamed. Upside down was
how it was meant to be. We do not know why, neither do the large
numbers of buyers of the publication who rang NISW to draw
attention to what they thought was a mistake.
The letter, faxed to give us this reassuring news quickly – and,
to spare his blushes, I won’t say from whom – was received in
triplicate: handwritten, amended version; statement on a letterhead
with signature and name; and one on a plain sheet, designated but
unsigned. None was upside down.
