An employers’ code of practice for disabled people who employ
their own staff was launched by Scotland’s deputy minister for
health and community care Malcolm Chisholm last week.
Written by the Scottish Personal Assistant Employers Network – a
group of disabled people who employ their own staff to assist them
with personal care and everyday activities – the code is designed
to help people in their situation understand employment law and be
good employers.
Speaking at the group’s first AGM Chisholm said: “I congratulate
those who have worked so hard to put into simple language the
complicated array of employment legislation.”
