First national guidance on mental health needs assessments announced

The first national guidance on needs assessment in Scotland was
published on Thursday by the mental health and well being support
group on behalf of the Scottish executive. The report, Needs
Assessment for a Comprehensive Local Mental Health Service, covers
individual and community needs and emphasises the necessity of
involving service users and their carers throughout the assessment
process.
