Many social care workers will be influenced in their vote at the
general election by whether a party supports free long term care
for older people Community Care’s website poll has found.
The results of the survey almost exactly reflect the findings of
Help The Aged/Mori research, with 52 per cent saying policies on
long term care will affect how they vote, and 48 per cent saying
they will be influenced by other factors.
This week’s question asks: If people claim compensation for an
authority’s failure to protect them from abuse, will this have a
detrimental effect on child protection practice?
The European Court of Human Rights awarded four siblings
£320,000 in damages after a council failed to protect them
from abuse when they were children.
