Domiciliary service satisfies users

Domiciliary care service users at Leicestershire Council are
highly satisfied with the level of services provided, according to
a report published last week.

The Audit Commission’s Best Value inspection report finds the
council’s aims for the home care services to be “clear and
challenging”. In particular, Leicestershire aims to support older
and vulnerable people to live as independently as possible in their
own homes, it adds.

However, service users recognised that the number of home care
workers could be improved, and complained of a lack of flexibility
in laundry and mobile meal services.

Scope for a more efficient use of resources in some aspects of
home care services was also identified.
