Four new part-time commissioners have been appointed to the
Mental Welfare Commission in Scotland.
Corinna Penrose and Lynne Edwards have been appointed as service
users representatives. Penrose is a senior advocacy worker for the
Glasgow Association of Mental Health, while Edwards is a researcher
whose most recent work has focused on mental health issues for
young people.
The other two appointments are Sheriff Gordon Shiach, a QC and
former vice-chairperson of the parole board, and John Bain, the
professor of general practice at the University of Dundee.
