Last chance to enter the Community Care awards

This week is the last chance to enter the
Community Care annual awards, so if you have been involved
in a project or initiative that has made a difference to the lives
of your clients and is a great example of good practice then we
need to hear from you now.

Our annual awards celebrate the best in social
care and we will be rewarding projects that are judged to be
leading the way in the ever-changing social care world. The
categories include: carers (sponsored by Reliance Care); child
protection (sponsored by Fostering Support Group); young offenders
(sponsored by Corvedale Care); learning difficulties (sponsored by
Stepping Stones); older people/intermediate care (sponsored by
Bupa); inter-agency work (sponsored by OLM); children and families
(sponsored by Five Rivers); disability (sponsored by Cooper
Stanley); mental Health (sponsored by Personnel & Care Bank);
and drugs and alcohol.

Anybody working in a local authority,
voluntary or private organisation – including health and housing
agencies – can enter. The winner of each category will receive
£4,000, with the overall winner receiving a further
£8,000. The ceremony will take place at the London Hilton, in
London’s Park Lane on 8 November. The closing date for receipt of
