Most people support tax increase to help older people

Sixty per cent of the public would be willing to pay more tax to
finance community care services for older people, according to a
poll commissioned by Community Care.

Thirty per cent said they would not be willing to pay more and
just 2 per cent said they did not know.

Just over half (51 per cent) of 25-34 year-olds, compared with
73 per cent of 45-54 year-olds, said ‘yes’ to contributing more tax
in the NOP survey.
