Home care as good as nursing homes

Nine out of 10 visitors to Community
Care‘s website believe improvements to intermediate and home
care have compensated for the loss of residential and nursing
homes.

A government survey had revealed that 900
homes closed in the 12 months up to March this year.

The Local Government Association said in
response to the local government settlement that 17 per cent of
social services cash was ring-fenced, which is more than in many
