Autism is more prevalent, report admits

A new report from the Medical Research Council accepts there may
be a higher prevalence of autism, but also says there are higher
rates of diagnosis and awareness.

The report recommends that autism sufferers are more involved in
the research of autism spectrum disorders (ASDs).

It also suggests population studies be used to examine
environmental risks and their relationship with genetic factors in
the causes of autism.
