More than 50 MPs join social services group

A total of 55 MPs have joined the all-party parliamentary group
on social services and elected Joan Humble, Labour MP for Blackpool
North and Fleetwood, as chairperson.

Over the next year, the group will examine recruitment of social
care staff; the first two months of the General Social Care Council
and National Care Standards Commission; the interface between
social care and preventive work with older people.
