A million older people put at risk by rationing of services

A new report from 21 campaigning organisations claims the
rationing of social care services threatens older people’s
lives.

The report condemns “sticking plaster” government solutions and
poor funding of social services compared with the NHS.

A million older people are struggling to access care, the report
from the ‘Social Policy Ageing and Information Network (SPAIN)’
claims.

The coalition of groups behind the report, which includes Help
the Aged, the Centre for Policy on Ageing, Arthritis Care, Age
Concern and the Alzheimer’s Society, also calls for a national care
commission.
