There is an unacceptably wide variation in the
quality of Trafford Borough Council’s social services, according to
a joint review published this week.
Children’s services are generally better than
those for adults, says the review, with the number of children
looked after by the council now falling and services for disabled
children improving.
But some services for adults need radical
overhaul and there needs to be more on focus supporting people to
live independent lives in the community, say inspectors from the
Social Services Inspectorate and the Audit Commission.
